Last month we asked to identify the two places
featured in the issue that are linked by a family
connection and to explain the connection.
Here are the answers:
A.The two places that are linked by a family
connection are Maresha/ Beit Guvrin and
Bethsaida.
B.King David married Maccah, the
daughter of Talmai one of the Geshurite kings mentioned
in the Bible (Bethsaida was apparently the capital city
Geshur). King David and his wife Maccah also had a
granddaughter named Maccah – she was married to
Rehoboam, who fortified Maresha.
We did not receive any correct answers to last
month’s quiz. We therefore randomly chose one
