Tut Neyar is the Hebrew name of a Mulberry
plant paper. Izhar and Timna Neumann make striking
paper at their establishment, Tut Neyar. This is
not your ordinary paper mill but a small
work/shop.
You can choose from a variety of hand-pressed
paper, which can be used for Ketubot, wedding
invitations, greeting cards etc., as well as a
selection of lampshades sporting hand made paper.
While there is nothing distinctly Israeli about
the paper or the process by which it is made, it
is worth seeing nonetheless. Most of the paper
includes pressed wild flowers, which vary
according to the season. Papers are available in a
variety of thickness for different uses (ask to
see the papers which are on display).
Paper making demonstrations and workshops are
available by prior arrangement (in English, Hebrew
and Japanese). These are best conducted in good
weather.
Tut Neyar is located in the courtyard of 39
Hameysdim Street.
