This tour will take you on a journey from the beginning of time
to the present as told by the local folklore of the many different
peoples, cultures and religions. Explore the paths, alleyways
and back streets of Jerusalem's Old City (the Armenian and
Jewish quarters) and enjoy the many stories hidden within
the holy places, sacred stones, ancient walls and mysterious
tombs.
These stories begin with the Creation of the world with Jerusalem
at its center. Some of the stories you'll hear include; the graves
of Adam and Eve, beheaded architects and a mangled saint. In
addition, your guide will tell you the tale of Canaanite brothers, the
prophecies of Hebrew sages, as well as biblical stories of past
events and the legends of Talmudic scholars.
The tour highlights accounts by Roman historians, lore of
Christian martyrs, dreams of Ottoman Sultans, the pride of
European emperors and kings, and the scrutiny of famous
authors.Modest dress required.
