For those who enjoy an active vacation there are many options other than just visiting the sites in the area (or venturing beyond the immediate area).

You can rent bicycles and tour the valley in a low-tech way allowing you to truly enjoy the outdoors. You can go horseback riding or even paragliding. Mt. Gilboa is one Israel's premier paragliding sites - most weekends you can see the colorful parachutes as they hover over the fields below.
