Zippori - The Ornament of all of Galilee

Only four miles from Nazareth lies the ancient city of Zippori. It features beautiful mosaics and an elaborate ancient reservoir. Primarily a Jewish city, it became the seat of a Christian bishopric in the 5th century CE. And here, on a hilltop there is a church and a watchtower in memory of Anne and Joachim, the parents of Mary, Mother of Jesus.

Zippori National Park is a gem that Israelis frequent. However, it is often overlooked by tourists, including those who visit nearby Nazareth.

Not only is this one of the most beautiful archaeological sites it is a place rich in historical significance.

Nearby, Moshav Zippori offers visitors a range of activities including horseback riding, jeep rentals, an aqua-plant, a parrot and sheep farm as well as a dairy that specializes in goat milk products.

The combination of ancient ruins and the modern day settlement of Moshav Zippori, in a country setting, offers something for everyone.
